The Volunteer Center is collaborating with the Waterloo Public Library to plan an event for the World’s Greatest Spring Break for Kids March 10-18, 2012. On Wednesday, March 14, kids throughout the Cedar Valley may attend a “sock hop” at the Public Library from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Volunteers will read books about socks, and will also teach several dances those children attending. Admission is a pair of socks to be donated to a local agency.
Sponsored by the McElroy Trust, many organizations are organizing special events for the week. Admission to most venues is just $1.00. Participating organizations include: Grout Museum District, Waterloo Center for the Arts, National Wrestling hall of Fame, Waterloo Leisure Services-Young Arena, Waterloo Community Playhouse, Volunteer Center of Cedar Valley, Waterloo Public library, ISU Extension, Quakerdale, and Met Transit.
