Spotlight Agencies - Parkview Nursing & Rehab Center and Pathways Behavioral Services, Inc.

The mission of Parkview Nursing and Rehab Center is to provide for the health and convalescent care needs of the elderly in local communities through pleasant, secure, and homelike health care facilities staffed by professionally trained and caring personnel.

Parkview Nursing and Rehab Center supports charitable and benevolent causes which improve the quality of life of the elderly in the communities in which our facilities are located.

Volunteers are needed to provide musical entertainment, pair up with residents for one on one activities, and assist residents with an outing to the East High Ball Park during the summer months. Volunteers for all positions must be 16 and over.

The mission of Pathways Behavioral Services is to provide the best possible behavioral health services and other related services to individuals, families, and communities to improve the quality of life.

Pathways Behavioral Services, Inc. is a nonprofit corporation licensed by the Iowa Department of Public Health and accredited by the Department of Human Services. Founded in 1967 to serve clients solely in Black Hawk County, Pathways today offers substance abuse and mental health prevention and treatment services to people in six northeast Iowa counties. With 128,012 residents, urban Black Hawk County is home to 50 percent more people than the combined populations of the five outlying, rural counties Bremer, Buchanan, Butler, Chickasaw and Grundy.

Volunteers are needed to drive the Executive Director to Des Moines once a month to the Mental Health-Mental Retardation-Developmental Disabled-Brain Injured Commission Meetings. Volunteers age 18 and over are needed.
