Will you be attending graduation parties for friends and family? Perhaps you have a child of your own that will be graduating this year. Did you realize there is a whole group of students who graduate from high school and never have a graduation party or anyone to acknowledge their achievement?
That’s why, three years ago, we started having a community graduation celebration for youth in foster care who are graduating from high school or earned their GED. It has been heartwarming to see how the young people have responded. Hawkeye photography students take their senior pictures, Columbus High School students make their invitations but we need YOU to attend the party. We need community people to come through and shake our graduates hands and encourage them by asking about their future. Won’t you please take an hour out of your busy schedule to support these great kids?
